The National Treasury and Ministry of Planning is mandated to constitute the Board of Public Procurement Regulatory Authority in line with section 10 of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act. 2015 and section 55 of the Finance Act. 2017. Section 10 of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act. 2015 provides for the establishment of Public Procurement Regulatory Board which shall consist of –
The Chairperson nominated by the Cabinet Secretary and appointed by the president
two members who shall be appointed by the Cabinet Secretary after nomination through a fair process by –
(i) the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, and
(ii) the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management;
the Cabinet Secretary or his or her representative;
the Attorney-General or his or her representative; and
four other persons appointed by the Cabinet Secretary.
The Public Procurement and Regulatory Board shall be constituted upon conclusion of the requisite processes regarding qualifications and suitability to hold such office. The Institute has been called upon to nominate a representative for appointment to the Committee.
This is to call to members fitting the role to apply for consideration and nomination by the Institute. The applications shall be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
Have been a member of the Institute in good standing for at least five (5) years
Has at least two (2) years’ experience in finance, accounting or auditing,
Has at least two (2) years’ experience in general management;
Has at least two (2) experience in Board affairs;
Demonstrated leadership both from corporate and/or social engagements including church, schools and community;
Has a clear vision underpinned on the regulatory role of Treasury and Ministry of Planning
Has good communication and interpersonal skills.
