The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) is a statutory body of accountants established under the Accountants Act of 1978, and as repealed under the Accountants Act No.15. of 2008, with the mandate to develop and regulate the Accountancy Profession in Kenya. The Institute is also a member of the Pan Africa Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the global umbrella body for the accountancy profession.

In its regulatory role, ICPAK licenses its practicing members annually. Section 18(1) of the Accountants Act states that… no person shall practice as an accountant unless he is the holder of a practicing certificate and a licence to practice that are in force. (2) Any person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding five hundred thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding three years or to both.

ICPAK further advises the public to ONLY engage the firms and members listed on the list below for accountancy services per each category.
