THE ANNUAL FORENSIC AUDIT CONFERENCE

Date: 24th – 26th October 2018

Time: 9am to 4pm Daily

1.0  Overview

World over, spectacular losses, corporate collapses and major scandals have become regular business news items. This state of affairs has focused the minds of company directors, owners, and regulators on below the mark corporate governance practices, failure of risk management strategies, and the widespread existence of unethical business behavior. Partly and majorly – technological advancements, change of workplace values and inadequate know-how on the part of audit, accounts and risk managers are some of the major contributors to this.

Generally, there is acceptance that unethical business behavior directly or indirectly accounts for major losses (often estimated to be between 2 and 5% turnover) and severely damages the reputation and morale of companies. However, despite being one the largest unmanaged risks in companies today, many managers still receive virtually no formal training in how to identify the red flags, deal with them and most importantly how to become more resistant to all forms of unethical business behavior, including fraud and corruption.

It is against this backdrop that ICPAK has organized the 2018 Annual Forensic Audit Conference to focus on:

  • Fraud Analysis: A New Paradigm for Forensic Accountants and Auditors
  • White Collar Crime: Emerging Trends
  • Anti – Money Laundering & Duties to Accountants / Auditors under PROCAMLA
  • Investigating Crimes in the Capital/Securities Market
  • Forensic Audit for Investment Portfolios
  • Whistle-blowing; The Accountant’s Dilemma
  • Group Work: Setting up an Investigation – Key Considerations
