Overview

Audit quality assurance refers to the processes and measures implemented by audit firms or organizations to ensure the delivery of high-quality audit services. The objective of audit quality assurance is to enhance the reliability, credibility, and effectiveness of the auditing process, thereby promoting confidence in financial reporting and maintaining the integrity of the profession. With the huge reliance of financial information by the public to make informed decisions regarding investments, loans, and other financial transactions AQA plays a pivotal role in ensuring accuracy and reliability through facilitation of audits that are conducted with integrity, objectivity, and adherence to professional standards. In addition to this AQA also plays a major role in Investor Protection, Public Trust and Confidence, Corporate Governance and Accountability and adherence to regulatory Compliance requirements which contributes to a stable and trustworthy business environment.

In compliance with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Statements of Membership Obligations (SMOs), ICPAK undertakes its regulatory mandate and oversight of the audit firms and practitioners in the Kenyan market to ensure adherence to audit quality requirements and upskill its membership on changes in standards and regulations. It is against this background that the Institute has organized this two-day Audit Quality Assurance workshop to promote awareness and understanding of the ISAs and the IAASB modules as well as share knowledge on emerging issues and experiences across the practice.

The key topical areas below will guide the discussion during this important virtual workshop.
