OVERVIEW

Proper data protection is crucial to help prevent cybercrimes by ensuring that the customer’s, data is protected to prevent fraud. Data privacy or information privacy is a branch of data security concerned with the proper handling of data – consent, notice, and regulatory obligations. More specifically, practical data privacy concerns often revolve around
 Whether or how data is shared with third parties
 How data is legally collected or stored
 Regulatory restrictions such as the Data Protection Act, GDPR
In order to understand the provisions of GDRP, the Institute has organized a webinar to cover the following topical areas;
1. Introduction to GDPR
2. Understanding the principles of GDPR
3. Types of data, individual rights, and consent
4. Roles and Responsibilities
5. A case study on a recent data breach
6. Pillars of Data Strategy
7. The use of technology to detect fraud

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT UNITS (CPD UNITS):
Members of ICPAK and reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 2 Structured CPD Units upon successfully completion of the Webinar.

FINANCIAL COMMITMENT:
The Webinar charges are Kshs. 1,000. Charges will cater for online video access fees, learning materials, and e-certificates of attendance

NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL TRAINING AUTHORITY (NITA) REIMBURSEMENT:
The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations.
