Overview

The vibrant and dynamic cooperative movement in Kenya is a key player in the economy, controlling a significant per cent of Kenya’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The Cooperative Societies in Kenya provides employment opportunities besides creating the opportunity for people to take control of their own financial affairs. Co-operative Societies sector in Kenya play a pivotal role primarily to members by giving them affordable financial credit and investment advisory services which help in improving their economic livelihoods to combat poverty. Another paramount role and perhaps one with greater impact to the nation is the cooperatives role in mobilizing savings for eventual allocation and re-allocation in key sectors of the economy.

However, these co-operative societies suffer common problems associated with Legislation Compliance, Poor Financial Management, Leadership, Governance and Political Interference among many others.

  4. Savings Mobilization and Business Innovations
  5. Financial Reporting Excellence; How to Win the Award
  6. Ethical Issues in Financial Reporting
  7. Financial Reporting for Cooperatives and Key Audit Matters (KAM): Mkopo Format
  8. Customer as the King in Financial Reporting

Target Audience:

The Financial Management Seminar is useful for the Ministry of Cooperatives Officials, Compliance Officers of SASRA, Cooperatives Board & Management Committee Members, Chief Executive Officers, General Managers, Heads of Finance and Audit in the cooperatives sector.
