Introduction:
Financial management is fundamental to the improvement of efficient and effective use of finances in schools. If bursars’ principals and BOM members are well trained on their roles and responsibilities regarding financial management, they will be able to effectively deal with financial matters of schools. Financial management is an integral part of efficient and effective financial management in schools. Management of funding provided to schools by the government, as well as the internally generated revenues, is important.
There is a need to scrutinize the impact of related Acts and policies on financial management in schools. To determine and understand the extent of possible problems that schools experience regarding financial management and providing possible solutions for efficient and effective financial management in schools.
With this in mind, ICPAK has organized a 2-day workshop for school bursars, accounts clerks, and finance staff from both public and private institutions. This is a workshop style training giving the latest updates on issues affecting the work of bursars. It also provides a networking opportunity for bursars to meet Consultants and school colleagues to consider new initiatives and share ideas and good practice to enhance knowledge and competency levels on financial reporting through discussion of topics such as:
