OVERVIEW

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a lot of business disruptions resulting to entities exploring new ways of conducting business. This has equally impacted the way transactions are recorded and reported in the annual reports and financial statements.

Despite all these realignments, the need for high-quality and reliable financial reports cannot be over-emphasized. ICPAK aims to improve the quality of general-purpose financial reporting by organization across all sectors of the economy to ensure that there is better informed assessments of resource allocation and utilization decisions, thereby enhancing transparency and accountability.

The financial reporting training for the branches has been carefully tailored to meet the financial reporting requirements in view of the recent and current developments under the COVID-19 pandemic environment, and the emerging developments in reporting under IFRS.  This interactive Financial Reporting training course will give the participants an opportunity to learn some of the latest development in financial reporting and get details on the new reporting standards under the different financial reporting frameworks.

Additionally, the course will explore the impact of COVID-19 on financial reporting and treatment of various accounting and financial transactions.

Active participation by all participants through a combination of different approaches will be included. This will entail direct instruction, analysis and evaluation of practical case studies, examples, and exercises to illustrate application of the standards as well as current and future developments.

The two-hour sessions will also capture a review of the disclosure requirements for the various standards, which our specialist facilitators will provide guidance on the necessary requirements.
