OVERVIEW

In the recent past, many organizations, banks, and small businesses have become victims of the scourge of document and cheque fraud, wire frauds and various types of business frauds. These frauds have resulted in the loss of funds from tens of thousands to multi-million-dollar losses. With continual digitization of financial records and transactions, fraud prevention and detection is set to be more challenging. More than usual, professionals guarding organizations’ resources need to be alert for situations, control weaknesses, inadequacies in record keeping, errors and unusual transactions or results which could be indicative of fraud, improper or unlawful expenditure, unauthorized operations, waste, inefficiency, or lack of probity.

Despite the existence of internal controls, fraudsters have proven to be ahead of the game by circumventing the same. This calls for a more proactive approach and change of strategy in preventing and detecting fraud. This workshop is planned to address the following areas:

  • Litigation of Fraud Cases: Expectations from Law Enforcement Agencies and the Courts

Bank Auditors/investigators, Insurance Auditors/Investigators, Risk and compliance managers in banks, independent auditors, directors of various sections of government, finance managers, academicians, Internal Auditors, Accountants, managers/controllers, purchasing managers, ICT Security managers and directors, Government Auditors, Managers of security companies, anti-corruption officers among others.
