ICPAK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNCLAIMED FINANCIAL ASSETS AUTHORITY INVITES EXTERNAL AUDITORS FOR A TRAINING ON
UNCLAIMED FINANCIAL ASSETS
TO BE HELD ON 27TH -29TH NOVEMBER 2017,

Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority’s (UFAA) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) designed to explore possible areas of collaboration between these two entities in deepening UFAA’s mandate.
ICPAK and UFAA are planning to hold an auditors workshop to sensitize practicing auditors on the Provisions of Unclaimed Financial Assets Act, 2011 and their role in ensuring the holders comply with Unclaimed Financial Assets Act, 2011 (The Act)
UFAA seeks to begin engaging the services of external auditors as agents to be used by UFAA to enhance compliance by holders, one of the requirements by external auditors shall be certification by UFAA as a trained ICPAK member through this training.
ICPAK and UFAA have organized a three days training that will focus on:
- The UFA Act, 2011
- The UFAA Regulations, 2016
- Categories of unclaimed financial assets.
- Role of auditors in ensuring holders comply with the UFA Act,2011
- Claims verification process
- Case study on financials of sampled holders
- How to file unclaimed financial assets’ returns including nil returns
- Benefits, consequences of non-compliance and computation of applicable penalties for non-compliance.
All practicing members of ICPAK on a first come first served basis.

National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Reimbursement
The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations.
