Overview
The International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) refer to a set of globally acknowledged professional standards that prescribe guidelines to auditors for conducting audits on financial statements. The ISA sets up principles and procedures that auditors must follow to maintain an audit’s quality, consistency, and credibility.
The Standards play a key role in ensuring high quality audits that meet the needs of the investors and other users of financial statements. The standards also ensure that the firms conducting the audit engagements has in place an effective system to deliver quality service to their clients.
With the global business models undergoing transformation and new risks emerging, new standards have been development to meet the emerging needs of business organizations.
It is based on this background that the Institute has organized a two-day workshop to address the current ISAs in application and especially the new standards on audit quality management.
The following topics and Standards will be covered during the workshop:
i. International Standard on Quality Management (ISQM) 1 & 2
ii. International Standard on Auditing (ISA) 540 (Revised), Auditing estimates
iii. International Standards on Auditing (ISA) 210, Agreeing the terms of audit engagements.
iv. International Standard on Auditing (ISA) 230, Audit Documentation
v. International Standard on Auditing (ISA) 300, Planning an audit of financial statements.
vi. ISAE 3000 (Revised), Assurance engagements other than audits or reviews of historical financial information
vii. Special considerations – Audits of group financial statements (including the work of component auditors)
viii. International Standard on Auditing (ISA) 220 Quality control of an audit of financial statements
Practical illustrations will be applied during the discussions.
Target Audiences
This workshop will be useful to all professional Accountants and those aspiring to join the profession
Continuous Professional Development Units (CPD Units):
Members of ICPAK and reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 10 CPD Units upon successfully attending the session.
Cost:
Charges for the training will be Kes 10,000/= which will cover workshop fees, materials, and e-certificates of attendance.

National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Reimbursement:
The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations.
