THE INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA
(established under the Accountant Act, Laws of Kenya)
DATE: 7th December 2017
TIME: 5.30pm to 7.30pm
Venue: Hilton, Nairobi
Theme: Business Continuity Today: Key Considerations and Necessities
Away from natural calamities, global security threats are prime threats to global business today.
Economic instability, corporate collapses, fraud, investor uncertainty, digital disruption, transparency and sustainability are some of the key issues that call into question the value and appropriateness of traditional accounting thinking and structures in organizations. How are organizations prepared for these random unpredictable events?
Accountants who have been traditionally at the center of the budgeting process are faced with a difficult task – driving the budgeting process to deliver organizational success in an extremely turbulent business environment. As professionals, the expectation is that we need to adopt a 21st century thinking approach which starts with a 360-degree view of what the firm’s key operations are.
During this forum therefore, professionals will discuss key considerations and necessities in navigating through business uncertainty, and specifically, the fundamental changes that are required to guide the firm’s budgeting process.
- To evaluate the drive towards objective and task budgeting
- To explore the 360-degree approach to performance management
- To understand the balancing of financial and non-financial performance measures in a modern organization
