1.0 Preamble

Organizations have discovered something incredible – that the principles that have been used to create enormous successes in large projects can be applied to projects of any size to create amazing success! As a result, many employees are expected to understand project management techniques and how to apply them to projects of any size. As organizations seek to increase efficiency and cut costs in the increasingly challenging business climate, a focus on selecting, prioritizing and delivering the projects is more important than ever. Key to this objective is effective project management, a framework to ensure that investments in projects, resource allocation, monitoring and evaluation is optimized throughout project lifecycles and through to delivery and close-out.

2.0 Who Should Attend?

This workshop is specifically designed for middle level managers, project managers, project coordinators, accountants, personal assistants, grant managers, grant administrators, entrepreneurs, human resource managers, team leaders of private and state corporations, NGO’s and everyone who supports or are a contributor to a project. It aims to give the participants a full overview of a project and understand, how delivery is managed & what role accountants and finance plays in its success.

2.1 Areas of Discussion

  • Deep discussions on understand the criteria of Project Success from the view of the PMBOK Guide 6th Edition considering the 5 process groups & 10 Knowledge Areas.
  • Understanding Project, Program & Portfolio Management and its alignment to different Organizational Structures for Project delivery success, using established delivery & management lifecycles.
  • Review & understand approaches that can help in monitoring & evaluation of projects using Earned Value Management Techniques. Looking at variance, Cost & Schedule.
  • Reviewing & understanding the global trends of project delivery & management, from Traditional Project Management to Agile Approaches. Discussing the different frameworks, methodologies & approaches for successful delivery.

4.0 Continuous Professional Development Units (CPD Units)

6.0 National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Reimbursement

The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations. Remember that to qualify you should apply to NITA for approval prior to the date of the conference. Further details can be obtained from their website (www.nita.go.ke).
