THE INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA
CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
THE 4th ANNUAL TAX CONVENTION
27th to 29th September 2017
Venue; Sai Rock Beach Hotel and Spa, Mombasa Kenya
Theme: “Consolidating gains in tax reforms and modernization”
Tax has and continues to remain an emotive issue constantly being debated by individuals, organizations and governments world over. The duty to tax has rightly been termed the price paid for by citizens to maintain a modern state. The state has always wanted more tax and the tax payer has never wanted to pay not a shilling more on their tax obligations. Regionally, the East African governments have largely synchronized their operations to provide stability in regional tax regimes, work in harmony, improve client experience and possibly raise more tax yields from their citizenry through cross-border coordination. Taxation is both a function of law and accounting drawing in the accounting and legal professions who provide advice and support to their clients. In the Kenyan context, the establishment of Alternative Tax Dispute Resolution is a major milestone in tax modernization and reform. It is in recognition of the centrality of tax that the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) has organized the 4th Annual Tax Convention to be held in Mombasa from the 27th to 29th September 2017.
