INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA
(Established under the Accountant Act, Laws of Kenya)

THE 10TH ANNUAL TAX CONVENTION
Date: 31st October – 4th November  2022
Venue: Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa, Mombasa
Time: 09.00am-03.30pm

OVERVIEW

Kenya’s general elections come amid the twin crises in the global economy, the COVID-19 pandemic and the geopolitical war between Russia and Ukraine. The effect of these, among others, is a surge in government borrowing, increased inflation, and a high degree of uncertainty. This implies, the incoming government will be faced with a similar problem that faced the economy two decades ago. That of a limited fiscal space. As such, it will need to reorganize its structures in a manner that will bolster the economy without overburdening the taxpayers

Informed by worldwide political and economic occurrences, and domestic elections, the centrality of tax as a tool for economic development cannot be underestimated. It’s against this backdrop that the Institute has organized the 10th Annual Tax Convention, in Mombasa from the 31st of October to 4th November 2022 to discuss these and other matters crucial to economic development.
