YOUNG LEADERS’ CONFERENCE
Theme: Adoption of technology and emerging trends for professionals
Date: 6th April -8th April 2022
Venue: Lake Naivasha Resort, Naivasha

OVERVIEW

Leadership in business is the capacity of a company’s management to set and achieve challenging goals, take fast and decisive action when needed, outperform the competition, and inspire others to perform at their highest levels. This training is great platform for young leaders to exchange views and information, as they discuss tomorrow’s challenges as well as share ideas on how to leverage current business opportunities. It will provide an avenue for young leaders to share knowledge and key lessons on critical governance aspects regarding the main strategic priorities for companies. Lessons on effective oversight, reporting, business strategies, technology, taking advantage of opportunities, leadership skills, decision making and propelling the entity to success.

We have various aspects that ensure effective leadership and successful organizations ranging financial aspects to soft skills and taking advantage of technology. Business continuity planning is one of the key strategies in an organization that ensures continuous business operation. It ensures continuity of operations with minimal service outage or downtime.

Good leadership includes setting a positive example for staff to follow, by being excited about the work, being motivated to learn new things, receiving feedback, and helping as needed in both individual and team activities. Internal and external opportunities and challenges mean that leaders must sometimes manage change and/or implement new approaches and strategies to maintain success.

Effective leadership includes exhibiting a strong character. Leaders exhibit honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, and ethics. Leaders act in line with how they speak and earn the right to be responsible for others’ success in the organization. Strong leadership involves clear communication skills. Leaders speak with and listen to staff members, respond to questions and concerns, and are empathetic. Leaders use effective communication skills for moving the company forward and achieving new levels of success

Decision making has also improved, and technology plays a crucial role in assisting leaders in decision making through artificial intelligence and various data analytics tools. Guiding a company while considering the various information available both internally band in the external market ensures the entity remains relevant and keeps improving as the decisions propel the entity to success.

Mental Health has also become an important area to sensitize staff and ensure they are aware of their mental well-being that is balanced. Personal Branding also affects the image of an entity making it necessary to ensure leaders and staff understand the importance of personal branding.

It is against this background that the Institute has organized this Young Leaders Conference to discuss these topics which affect young leaders. The following shall be the main topics of discussion:
