SUMMARY:The Future of The Accountancy Profession Webinar
DESCRIPTION:THE INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA\n(Established under the Accountants Act\, Laws of Kenya) \nThe Future of The Accountancy Profession\nTheme: Shaping the Future of Accountancy: Artificial Intelligence\, Sustainability Reporting and Professional Ethics\nDate: 30th October 2026\nVenue: Virtual\nTime: 10:00am – 12:00Noon (EAT) \nOverview \nThe accountancy profession is experiencing a period of significant transformation driven by technological innovation\, evolving sustainability reporting requirements\, changing business models and heightened expectations of ethical leadership and accountability. As organisations navigate an increasingly complex operating environment\, accountants are expected to go beyond traditional financial reporting and compliance responsibilities to provide strategic insights\, strengthen governance\, support sustainable decision-making and safeguard public trust. \nArtificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies are changing how accounting and auditing activities are performed. From automating routine processes and analysing large datasets to identifying anomalies and supporting risk assessments\, these technologies offer opportunities to improve efficiency\, accuracy and the value of professional services. However\, their adoption also raises important considerations relating to data privacy\, confidentiality\, algorithmic bias\, professional judgement\, accountability and the need for appropriate human oversight. \nAt the same time\, sustainability reporting is becoming an increasingly important component of corporate accountability and decision-making. The introduction of sustainability disclosure standards\, including IFRS S1 and IFRS S2\, has increased the need for organisations to identify and disclose material sustainability-related risks and opportunities. This presents accountants with opportunities to support implementation\, strengthen reporting systems\, improve the reliability of sustainability information and contribute to assurance engagements. \nThese developments reinforce the importance of professional ethics\, integrity\, independence\, objectivity and professional competence. As the profession adopts new technologies and assumes broader responsibilities\, accountants must ensure that innovation and business transformation remain grounded in ethical conduct and the public interest. \nThe Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) will convene a high-impact expert webinar which will bring together experienced practitioners and thought leaders to examine the forces reshaping accountancy\, explore emerging opportunities and challenges\, and identify practical actions that professionals can take to remain relevant\, trusted and future-ready. \nThe session will provide a platform for knowledge exchange\, professional reflection and forward-looking discussion on the evolving role of accountants in a technology-driven\, sustainability-conscious and ethically demanding business environment. \nTopical areas of discussion: \n\nArtificial Intelligence and the Transformation of Accountancy\nSustainability Reporting and the Expanding Role of Accountants\nProfessional Ethics\, Trust and Accountability\nThe Future-Ready Accountant: Skills\, Opportunities and Professional Relevance\n\nTarget Audience \nThis workshop will be useful to all professional Accountants and those aspiring to join the profession. \nCPD Units \nMembers of ICPAK and reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 2 CPD Units upon successfully attending each of the sessions. \nFinancial Commitment \nThe webinar is free of charge \nOnline Booking: \nWe call on Seminar participants to note that booking for is available only online at www.icpak.com/events and will close two hours before the training session.  Delegates are reminded to note that online booking for training sessions is mandatory.   This is available either online at www.icpak.com/events  or on the ICPAK Live – A smart phone-based application that is available from google store. \nNita Reimbursement: \nThe Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. SUMMARY:AML and CFT Audit webinar
DESCRIPTION:NSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA\n(Established under the Accountants Act\, Laws of Kenya) \nAML and CFT Audit webinar\nDate: 3rd November  2026\nTime: 04.00pm-06.00pm\nDelivery Mode: Virtual \nOverview \nConducting an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) audit is a critical process for auditors\, financial institutions\, regulated entities and other designated professionals to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. These audits evaluate the effectiveness of an organization’s policies\, procedures\, and controls designed to detect\, prevent\, and report money laundering and terrorist financing activities. Auditors assess whether the institution maintains a robust risk-based approach\, adhering to standards set by bodies such as the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)\, local regulators\, and international guidelines. The primary goal is to identify weaknesses that could expose the organization to financial crime risks\, reputational damage\, or regulatory penalties. Successful audits require a combination of technical expertise\, independence\, and a thorough understanding of evolving threats in the global financial ecosystem. \nThe planning phase sets the foundation for a successful AML/CFT audit. Auditors begin by defining the scope\, objectives\, and timeline\, considering factors like the institution’s size\, customer base\, product offerings\, and geographic operations. A comprehensive risk assessment is conducted to prioritize high-risk areas\, such as correspondent banking\, trade finance\, or dealings with high-risk jurisdictions. Documentation review includes examining the AML/CFT policy framework\, customer due diligence (CDD) procedures\, and transaction monitoring systems. Engagement with key stakeholders\, including compliance officers and senior management\, helps align expectations and gather preliminary insights. Proper planning ensures resources are allocated efficiently and that the audit remains focused on material risks. \nRisk assessment forms the core of the audit methodology. Auditors evaluate the institution’s enterprise-wide risk assessment to determine if it accurately identifies\, measures\, and mitigates AML/CFT exposures. This involves analysing customer risk profiles\, enhanced due diligence (EDD) for politically exposed persons (PEPs)\, and sanctions screening processes. Data analytics tools are often employed to review transaction patterns\, flag suspicious activities\, and test the effectiveness of automated monitoring systems. Qualitative factors\, such as staff training programs and the “tone from the top” in fostering a culture of compliance\, are also scrutinized. Any gaps in risk identification can indicate systemic vulnerabilities that require immediate attention. \nFieldwork and testing procedures involve detailed examination of controls and operations. Auditors perform walkthroughs of key processes\, sample testing of customer files for proper KYC (Know Your Customer) documentation\, and validation of suspicious activity report (SAR) filings. Independent testing of transaction monitoring rules helps verify detection accuracy and false positive rates. Interviews with frontline staff and compliance teams reveal practical implementation challenges. Technology audits may include assessing the reliability of core banking systems and data integrity. These hands-on activities ensure that theoretical policies translate into effective day-to-day practices. \nEvaluation of findings focuses on the adequacy and effectiveness of the AML/CFT program. Auditors rate controls as effective\, partially effective\, or ineffective based on evidence gathered. Common deficiencies include inadequate customer identification\, weak ongoing monitoring\, or insufficient independent testing of the compliance function. Root cause analysis is performed to understand underlying issues\, such as resource constraints or outdated technology. The audit team also benchmarks the institution against industry best practices and regulatory expectations\, providing a holistic view of compliance maturity. This step is crucial for prioritizing remediation efforts. \nThe reporting and follow-up stage closes the audit cycle with actionable recommendations. A clear\, well-structured report is delivered to management and the board\, highlighting strengths\, weaknesses\, and prioritized remedial actions with timelines. Follow-up mechanisms ensure that agreed-upon corrective measures are implemented and tested in subsequent reviews. Continuous monitoring and periodic re-audits help adapt to emerging risks\, such as those posed by new technologies like cryptocurrencies or virtual assets. Ultimately\, a well-conducted AML/CFT audit strengthens the organization’s defenses\, promotes regulatory adherence\, and contributes to the broader fight against financial crime. \nTarget Audience: \nThe webinar will be useful to accountants\, auditors\, academia\, and other designated professionals interested AML and CFT audit \n Continuous Professional Development Units (CPDs):\nMembers of ICPAK and those from reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 2 Structured CPD Units upon successful completion of the workshop. \nFinancial Commitment:\nThe workshop charges are Kshs. 1\,000. Charges will cater for the webinar fees\, learning materials\, and e-certificates of attendance. \nOnline Booking:\nRegistration: Delegates are reminded to note that online booking for the webinar is mandatory on https://www.icpak.com/event-registration/Online Booking We call on workshop participants to note that booking is available only online at www.icpak.com and will close one day before the training session. The revised standard shifts the focus from traditional quality control procedures to a proactive and risk-based approach to quality management at the engagement level. \nISA 220 places greater responsibility on the engagement partner for managing and achieving quality throughout the audit engagement. The standard emphasizes leadership\, professional skepticism\, appropriate direction and supervision of engagement teams\, effective use of resources\, and ongoing evaluation of whether quality objectives are being achieved. It also aligns with International Standard on Quality Management ISQM 1 and ISQM 2\, creating a comprehensive framework for managing audit quality at both the firm and engagement levels. \nAs firms continue to implement quality management systems\, it is essential for engagement partners\, managers\, auditors\, and quality reviewers to understand their responsibilities under ISA 220 and how these requirements translate into practical actions throughout the audit lifecycle. Effective application of the standard contributes to improved audit execution\, stronger documentation\, enhanced professional judgment\, and greater confidence in audit opinions. \nThis webinar will provide participants with practical insights into the requirements of ISA 220 (Revised)\, the role of the engagement partner in achieving audit quality\, and best practices for embedding quality management into audit engagements across different jurisdictions and practice environments. \n\nUnderstanding the New Quality Management Framework\nCommon challenges and lessons learned in establishing effective quality management systems.\nInteraction between ISA 220 (Revised)\, ISQM 1\, and ISQM 2\nLeadership responsibilities for managing and achieving quality on audits\nFirms system of quality management and role of engagement teams\nRelevant ethical requirements\, including those related to independence\nRole and responsibilities of the engagement partner\nConsultation & documentation requirements\n\nTarget Audience: \nThis webinar will be useful to all professional Accountants and those aspiring to join the profession\, Internal and External Auditors\, Consultants and Advisors \nContinuous Professional Development Units (CPDs):\nMembers of ICPAK and those from reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 2 Structured CPD Units upon successful completion of the workshop. \nFinancial Commitment:\nThe workshop charges are Kshs. 1\,000. SUMMARY:ICPAK /EACC -FINANCIAL INVESTIGATIONS MASTERCLASS BEYOND THE NUMBERS: FORENSIC ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL INVESTIGATION
DESCRIPTION:INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA\nAND\nTHE KENYA ETHICS AND ANTI-CORRUPTION ACADEMY \nFINANCIAL INVESTIGATIONS MASTERCLASS\nBEYOND THE NUMBERS: FORENSIC ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL INVESTIGATION\nTheme: Follow the Money: From Financial Red Flags to Evidence\n23RD – 27TH NOVEMBER 2026\nMOMBASA. \nOVERVIEW \nFinancial crime increasingly involves complex transactions\, sophisticated corporate structures\, multiple jurisdictions\, digital financial platforms and emerging technologies. Fraud\, corruption\, money laundering\, illicit enrichment\, procurement-related financial crime and other economic offences frequently leave a financial trail that\, when properly identified\, analyzed and interpreted\, can provide critical evidence for investigation\, prosecution and asset recovery. \nFinancial investigation therefore plays a critical role in moving beyond the identification of an offence to establishing how the money was generated\, where it went\, who benefited\, what assets were acquired and how the financial trail can be converted into admissible and actionable evidence. \nThe ability to “follow the money” requires more than conventional accounting knowledge. Investigators\, accountants\, auditors\, financial analysts and other practitioners must be able to identify financial red flags\, obtain and evaluate financial information\, analyse transactions\, trace funds and assets\, identify beneficial ownership\, construct financial relationships and communicate complex financial findings clearly. \nThe increasing use of digital financial services and virtual assets has further transformed the financial investigation landscape. Investigators and financial professionals must therefore understand emerging financial crime typologies\, digital transactions\, virtual assets\, data analytics and the investigative opportunities and challenges presented by technology. \nAt the same time\, effective financial investigations increasingly depend on collaboration among investigators\, accountants\, auditors\, financial intelligence professionals\, regulators\, prosecutors\, asset-recovery practitioners and other agencies. Cross-border transactions and sophisticated financial structures make inter-agency and international cooperation essential to successful financial investigations. \nThe Financial Investigations Masterclass is therefore designed to strengthen the practical capacity of professionals involved in detecting\, investigating and responding to financial crime. The five-day programme will take participants through the financial investigation journey—from the identification of the first financial red flag\, through intelligence gathering and financial analysis\, to evidence development\, case-file preparation\, courtroom presentation and asset recovery. \nThe Masterclass adopts a highly practical “Follow the Money” approach\, combining expert-led sessions\, case studies\, practical exercises\, simulations\, group work and peer learning. Participants will work progressively through a practical case study\, applying the concepts and techniques introduced during the programme. \nThe Masterclass is intended not merely to impart knowledge\, but to equip participants with practical tools that can be applied in their respective professional environments. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES: \nThis program is divided into the following five modules covering the various aspects of Financial Investigation: \n\n\n\nDAY\nMODULE\nTOPICS\nKEY AREAS TO BE COVERED\n\n\n\n\nDAY 1\nA.   UNDERSTANDING FINANCIAL CRIME & RECOGNISING FINANCIAL RED FLAGS\n·         Concept of Financial Investigation & Forensic Accounting \n·         Financial Crime\, Fraud Schemes and Red Flags \n·         Sources of Financial Information & Investigative Intelligence\nParticipants will be introduced to the concepts\, principles and purpose of financial investigation and forensic accounting\, including the distinction between financial investigation\, audit and forensic accounting and the role of accountants in financial investigations. SUMMARY:Audit Quality Assurance Workshop (Mandatory Training) - Mt Kenya Branch
DESCRIPTION:THE INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA\n(Established under the Accountant Act\, Laws of Kenya) \nAudit Quality Assurance Workshop– Mt. Kenya Branch\nTheme: Strengthening Audit Quality for Public Trust & Professional Excellence\nDate: 26th – 27th November 2026\nTime: 09.00 am – 4:00 pm\nVenue: Kiambu\nA(This is one of the mandatory trainings for Practicing Certificate consideration) \nOverview \nAudit Quality Assurance remains the cornerstone of public confidence in financial reporting and the credibility of the accounting profession. In Kenya\, auditors operate within an increasingly demanding environment characterized by heightened regulatory oversight\, frequent quality inspections\, complex reporting frameworks\, expanded stakeholder expectations\, and growing exposure to litigation and reputational risk. These realities place audit quality not just as a technical requirement\, but as a strategic professional imperative. \nDespite significant regulatory progress and the adoption of international auditing and quality management standards\, inspection findings and practice reviews continue to reveal persistent gaps in key areas such as audit planning\, risk assessment\, documentation quality\, use of professional judgment\, audit evidence\, ethical compliance\, and firm-level quality management systems. Many practitioners still grapple with balancing commercial pressures\, client expectations\, independence requirements\, and the need for consistent\, high-quality audit execution. \nIn the Kenyan context\, auditors must also contend with complex public sector engagements\, evolving corporate governance standards\, procurement-driven audit risks\, and weak internal control environments in some institutions. These dynamics heighten exposure to audit failure\, fraud risk\, and regulatory sanctions—underscoring the urgent need for continuous professional upskilling focused on practical audit quality assurance. \nThis 2-Day Audit Quality Assurance workshop is therefore designed as a focused\, practical\, and capacity-building forum to strengthen the foundations of audit quality in Kenya. It will address the entire audit quality value chain—from engagement acceptance\, planning\, and risk assessment to execution\, reporting\, ethics\, and firm-wide quality management. The symposium will also emphasize regulatory expectations\, inspection readiness\, and proactive quality control as essential components of sustainable audit practice. \nThrough practitioner-led discussions\, regulatory insights\, case studies\, and experience-sharing\, participants will be equipped with practical tools\, renewed professional judgment\, and structured quality assurance approaches to enhance consistency\, reduce audit failure risk\, and reinforce compliance with international standards. Ultimately\, the symposium seeks to reposition audit quality as a professional culture—not merely a compliance obligation—anchored in integrity\, competence\, and accountability. \n\nAudit Quality as a Professional Culture\n\n\nPositioning audit quality beyond compliance into a firm-wide culture anchored on integrity\, objectivity\, and public interest responsibility.\n\n\nRisk-Based Audit Planning & Professional Judgment\n\n\nStrengthening auditors’ capacity to conduct robust risk assessments\, exercise sound professional judgment\, and design responsive audit strategies in complex and high-risk environments.\n\n\nAudit Execution\, Evidence & Documentation Excellence\n\n\nEnhancing the quality of audit testing\, audit evidence sufficiency\, and documentation standards to meet regulatory inspection expectations and withstand legal and professional scrutiny.\n\n\nEthics\, Independence & Managing Commercial Pressures\n\n\nReinforcing ethical compliance\, independence safeguards\, and conflict management amidst client pressure\, competition\, advocacy threats\, and economic constraints.\n\n\nFirm-Level Quality Management Systems (ISQM 1 & 2)\n\n\nPractical implementation of Quality Management Systems at the firm and engagement partner level\, focusing on leadership responsibility\, engagement quality reviews\, monitoring\, and continuous improvement.\n\n\nRegulatory Expectations\, Inspections & Practice Review Readiness\n\n\nPreparing practitioners for ICPAK and external regulator inspections through proactive quality controls\, common inspection findings\, remediation strategies\, and sustainable compliance approaches.\n\nTarget Audience: \nThis workshop will be useful to all professional Accountants and those aspiring to join the profession. \nContinuous Professional Development Units (CPD UNITS):\nMembers of ICPAK and those from reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 14 Structured CPD Units upon successfully completion of the seminar. \nFinancial Commitment:\nThe workshop charges are Kes. 10\,000. SUMMARY:THE INTERNAL AUDIT\, RISK\, AND FORENSIC CONFERENCE 2026
DESCRIPTION:INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA\n(Established under the Accountants Act\, Laws of Kenya) \nTHE INTERNAL AUDIT\, RISK\, AND FORENSIC CONFERENCE 2026\nTheme: From Controls to Intelligence: Redefining Integrity through Risk and Forensic Insight\nDate: 30th November – 4th December 2026\nVenue: Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa\, Mombasa\nTime: 09.00am–03.30pm \nOVERVIEW \nOrganizations today operate in environments defined by speed\, complexity\, and interconnected systems. Decisions are increasingly driven by digital platforms\, automated processes\, and real-time data flows. While governance frameworks and internal controls remain essential\, recent experiences across sectors have demonstrated that traditional control-based assurance models\, on their own\, are no longer sufficient to detect emerging risks or prevent organizational failure. \nModern risk exposure has evolved into sophisticated threats including cyber-enabled fraud\, insider manipulation\, data integrity risks\, money laundering schemes\, weak governance oversight\, and ethical blind spots embedded within organizational culture. These risks often materialize subtly\, amplified by technology\, fragmented accountability\, and delayed responses. Assurance functions must therefore move beyond static checklists and adopt intelligence-driven approaches that anticipate\, detect\, and respond to risk in real time. \nInternal audit functions are increasingly expected to act as strategic partners to Boards and senior management\, providing forward-looking assurance and insight rather than retrospective reviews. This evolution requires stronger integration of risk intelligence\, data analytics\, forensic methodologies\, and governance oversight. Forensic accounting\, once viewed primarily as a reactive investigative tool\, is now a critical component of proactive risk management\, supporting early detection of irregularities and strengthening accountability mechanisms. \nAt the same time\, organizations face heightened regulatory scrutiny\, growing public expectations for transparency\, and increasing pressure to demonstrate ethical leadership. Whistleblowing systems\, audit trails\, anti-money laundering controls\, and ethical culture are no longer optional safeguards but essential pillars of institutional credibility. Professionals charged with safeguarding these systems must therefore possess not only technical competence\, but also judgment\, resilience\, and the ability to navigate complex risk landscapes. \nAgainst this backdrop\, the Internal Audit\, Risk\, and Forensic Conference provides a strategic forum for practitioners\, regulators\, and organizational leaders to examine how assurance functions can evolve from control-focused compliance roles into intelligence-led enablers of integrity and trust. Through expert insights\, practical case studies\, and cross-sector dialogue\, the conference will explore how risk intelligence and forensic insight can be leveraged to strengthen accountability\, protect value\, and enhance organizational resilience in an increasingly uncertain environment. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \nThis program is divided into the following modules covering various aspects. \n\n\n\nDAY\nMODULE \nTOPICS\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nDAY 1\nInternal Audit in a Rapidly Evolving Environment \n \n\n\nIndependence\, objectivity\, and stakeholder expectations\nStrategic alignment with organizational goals\nCollaboration with external audit and assurance providers\n\n\n\n\nAudit Technology and Intelligent Risk Detection \n \n\n\nContinuous auditing and monitoring tools\nAutomation\, AI\, and data analytics in audit practice\nCybersecurity and digital forensics\n\n\n\n\nAudit Trails and Transaction Monitoring for Accountability \n \n\n\nDesigning robust audit trails\nTransaction reconstruction and data integrity\nDetecting anomalies through monitoring systems\n\n\n\n\n  \nDAY 2\nRisk-Based Auditing and Internal Control Frameworks \n \n\n\nCOSO and ISO 31000 in practice\nLinking risk assessment to audit planning\nEvaluating control effectiveness\n\n\n\n\nGovernance Structures and Oversight of Risk \n \n\n\nBoard and audit committee responsibilities\nRisk ownership and accountability\nIntegrating governance with enterprise risk management\n\n\n\n\nForensic Accounting and Financial Statement Fraud \n \n\n\nPrinciples and techniques of forensic investigations\nFraud indicators and red flags\nLessons from forensic case studies\n\n\n\n\n  \nDAY 3\nAnti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime Risks \n \n\n\nAML frameworks and regulatory expectations\nTechnology-enabled financial crime detection\nCrypto-assets\, fintech risks\, and cross-border trends\n\n\n\n\nCorporate Scandals and Assurance Failures \n \n\n\nHow controls and governance systems break down\nLessons from global and regional cases\nStrengthening accountability and reform measures\n\n\n\n\nWhistleblowing Frameworks and Ethical Accountability \n \n\n\nDesigning effective reporting mechanisms\nProtecting whistleblowers and managing retaliation risks\nEthical responsibilities of leadership and professionals\n\n\n\n\n  \n  \nDAY 4\nEthical Culture\, Behaviour\, and Fraud Risk \n \n\n\nCulture as a driver of ethical or unethical conduct\nLinking ethics to risk management\nBuilding sustainable ethical environments\n\n\n\n\nProfessional Resilience and Well-being in Assurance Roles \n \n\n\nManaging stress in high-pressure audit and risk functions\nEmotional resilience and mental well-being\nDecision-making under uncertainty and sustaining professional judgment\n\n\n\n\n\n CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT UNITS \nMembers of ICPAK and other reciprocating professional bodies will earn 20 Structured CPD points upon successfully attending the Internal Audit\, Risk\, and Forensic Conference. \nTARGET AUDIENCE  \nThe Conference is open to all Accountant Professionals\, Audit Practitioners\, Senior Management\, Risk Professionals\, CEOs\, and Boards. \nCONFERENCE CHARGES: \n\n\n\nDetails\nAmount\n\n\nAssociate Members\nKShs 54\,000 per Delegate\n\n\nFull Members\nKShs. 59\,000 per Delegate\n\n\nNon-Member\nKShs. 64\,000 per Delegate\n\n\nAccommodation**\nDelegates are advised to make own accommodation arrangements\n\n\n\nNATIONAL INDUSTRIAL TRAINING AUTHORITY (NITA) REIMBURSEMENT \nThe Institute is registered as a trainer with the National Industrial Training Authority. SUMMARY:Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants webinar
DESCRIPTION:INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA\n(Established under the Accountants Act\, Laws of Kenya) \nCode of Ethics for Professional Accountants webinar\nDate: 2nd December 2026\nTime: 02.00pm-04.00pm\nDelivery Mode: Virtual \nOverview \nProfessional accountants are often confronted with ethical issues in discharging their mandate. These ethical issues emanate from interactions with both internal and external stakeholders of the organizations they work for. This is happening against a background of heightened unethical corporate behaviors and scandals at local and international levels. At the local level\, for example\, financial scandals involving large corporate entities have not only led to immense economic losses to the shareholders and owners but have also negatively impacted the economic growth of the country\, robbing future generations of crucial economic opportunities. \nIt is important to note that one profession that is often castigated and blamed whenever financial scandals are exposed to the public limelight is the accountancy profession. This is often because of the pivotal role accountants play in an economy. It therefore goes without saying that accountants are indeed custodians of public trust and are required to always conduct themselves ethically for them to win and maintain trust from their employers\, fellow employees\, and the public. \nIn view of the above-mentioned issues\, the Institute has organized a virtual webinar -Ethics for professional accountants.  During the webinar\, participants will be exposed to ICPAK’s professional code of ethics based on the IESBA Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants. The webinar will focus on the following topical areas: \n\nAn overview of ICPAK’s code of ethics\nPractical application of the principles of the code of ethics and threats to independence\nCurrent emerging ethical issues for accountants\n\nTarget Audience: \nThis webinar will be useful to all professional Accountants and those aspiring to join the profession\, Internal and External Auditors\, Consultants and Advisors \nContinuous Professional Development Units (CPDs):\nMembers of ICPAK and those from reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 2 Structured CPD Units upon successful completion of the webinar. \nFinancial Commitment:\nThe workshop charges are Kshs. 1\,000.
