REQUEST FOR COMMENTS ON THE DRAFT BUDGET PROPOSAL FOR THE NATIONAL TREASURY (VOTE 1071) FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2027/28 AND THE MEDIUM TERM BUDGET

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) is the statutory body of Accountants established under CAP 531 and mandated to regulate the accountancy profession in Kenya. The Institute is also a member of the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the global Accountancy umbrella body.
As a key stakeholder in Public Financial Management and in line with its commitment to supporting Kenya’s economic growth and development, the Institute continues to actively participate in and contribute to budgeting processes at both the National and County Government levels.

In this regard, the National Treasury has invited public comments on the proposed Budget for the Financial Year 2027/28 and the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework. The Institute therefore invites members to review the draft budget proposals and submit their comments and recommendations.

Kindly submit your comments, in the format provided below and with clear justifications, to legislative@icpak.com by close of business, Thursday, 17th September 2026, to facilitate consolidation and onward submission
