On 22 September 2026, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), led by its Chairman, CPA Prof. Elizabeth Kalunda, paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Makueni County, H.E. Mutula Kilonzo Jr.
The Chairman was accompanied by Council Members FCPA Gorgina Malombe and CPA Wycliff Bichang’a, the Eastern Branch Executive Committee led by its Chairman, CPA Felix Mulwa, and the ICPAK Secretariat team. The meeting was attended by Makueni County CECM for Finance and Economic Planning, CPA Damaris Kavoi, alongside other county finance officials.
During the engagement, ICPAK commended the County Government of Makueni for its clean audit reports, recognising the County’s commitment to prudent financial management, accountability and sound public finance practices.
The discussions explored opportunities for collaboration in capacity building for county staff and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly groups supported through the County’s empowerment programmes.
The two sides also discussed opportunities for other counties to benchmark Makueni County’s financial management practices, particularly in own-source revenue mobilisation and cashless revenue collection systems.
