The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya has been recognised for leading Kenya’s readiness to adopt IFRS S1 and S2. The award was presented during UNCTAD’s 43rd ISAR session at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, with North Macedonia placing second and Nigeria third. ISAR, the UN’s Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting, is the world’s foremost forum on corporate reporting.
The honour recognises three initiatives led by ICPAK:
✅ Regulatory coherence: ICPAK convened Kenya’s regulators behind a single, aligned approach
✅ Sector-specific illustrative disclosures: practical guidance developed by ICPAK for preparers
✅ A national Readiness Assessment: an evidence-based study ICPAK led to map where Kenya stands With about KES 60 billion in green financing already raised in Kenya, credible sustainability disclosures are the foundation investors need to channel even more capital into our markets.
ICPAK will continue to lead the profession in building that foundation. 🌱 We thank the Multi-Stakeholder Committee on Sustainability and Climate Change, our regulators and partners who worked alongside us. Together, we have put Kenya on the global map.
