Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants webinar

December 2 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Ksh 1000

INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS OF KENYA
(Established under the Accountants Act, Laws of Kenya)

Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants webinar
Date: 2nd December 2026
Time: 02.00pm-04.00pm
Delivery Mode: Virtual

Overview

Professional accountants are often confronted with ethical issues in discharging their mandate. These ethical issues emanate from interactions with both internal and external stakeholders of the organizations they work for. This is happening against a background of heightened unethical corporate behaviors and scandals at local and international levels. At the local level, for example, financial scandals involving large corporate entities have not only led to immense economic losses to the shareholders and owners but have also negatively impacted the economic growth of the country, robbing future generations of crucial economic opportunities.

It is important to note that one profession that is often castigated and blamed whenever financial scandals are exposed to the public limelight is the accountancy profession. This is often because of the pivotal role accountants play in an economy. It therefore goes without saying that accountants are indeed custodians of public trust and are required to always conduct themselves ethically for them to win and maintain trust from their employers, fellow employees, and the public.

In view of the above-mentioned issues, the Institute has organized a virtual webinar -Ethics for professional accountants.  During the webinar, participants will be exposed to ICPAK’s professional code of ethics based on the IESBA Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants. The webinar will focus on the following topical areas:

  1. An overview of ICPAK’s code of ethics
