Overview
Professional accountants are constantly faced with the challenge of maintaining and developing their competence in an ever-changing and evolving work environment. The traditional role of an accountant as a number crusher is obsolete. The accountant today is assuming more challenging strategic roles such as being an advisor to the top leadership of an entity over and above traditional financial reporting responsibility. At the same time, the volume of business data both from an entity and outside is massive. Businesses today are churning out great volumes of data daily from their interactions with customers, suppliers and other important stakeholders. However, many entities have not been able to harness the huge potentials present in the volumes of data available to them.
Moreover, as an accountant’s role undergoes transformation from a mere number’s crusher to assuming a business partner and advisor role, there is need for enhanced communication and reporting writing skills. The importance of effective communication cannot be over-emphasized especially in the highly competitive and globalized business environment. The strategic role a professional accountant plays in today’s business landscape requires a fundamental shift in skill sets required to discharge the mandate effectively and efficiently. A great deal of the work life of an accountant is spent on communication and report writing both to internal and external stakeholders.
In view of the above-mentioned developments, the Institute has organized one-day virtual training for professional accountants on Fundamentals of Report Writing and Data Analytics. During the one-day training, participants will be exposed to fundamental elements of top-notch report writing and data analytics skills. The training will focus on the following topical areas:
1. Beyond numbers crushing: the transformation of an accountant’s role in the 21st
2. The fundamentals of effective report writing and communication: practical application and case studies
3. Business Data Analytics: practical application and illustrated examples

This webinar will be useful to all professional Accountants and those aspiring to join the profession, Internal and External Auditors, Consultants and Advisors

Members of ICPAK and those from reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 2 Structured CPD Units upon successful completion of the workshop.
