Overview
The Income Tax & Indirect Taxes Seminar will provide an in-depth exploration of recent developments in the tax landscape, focusing on both income and indirect taxes. Participants will gain critical insights into the changing tax environment and its implications for compliance and corporate strategies. The seminar will address vital areas of tax planning for individuals and corporates, helping stakeholders navigate challenges and seize opportunities to minimize tax liabilities legally.
One key focus will be the recent changes in income tax legislation, specifically updates to the Income Tax Act. This session will explore the implications of these amendments for businesses and individuals, emphasizing compliance strategies and the integration of these changes into corporate tax structures. A significant discussion will be on tax planning for individuals and corporates, with a detailed examination of the best practices for leveraging tax incentives, deductions and reliefs to optimize tax positions.
The seminar will also dig into the complex topic of transfer pricing, focusing on the impact of these regulations on multinational corporations and how businesses can align their policies with international guidelines such as the BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting) framework. Participants will receive practical guidance on managing transfer pricing risks and ensuring compliance with global standards.
In addition to income tax, the seminar will cover key issues in indirect taxes, starting with the evolving landscape of Value Added Tax (VAT). The session will address the latest updates in VAT regulations, compliance and opportunities for businesses to manage VAT refunds and audits effectively. Further discussions will cover the administration of excise taxes, particularly in light of emerging trends in digital goods and services, as well as the broader impact of excise duties on business profitability.
Digital service tax (DST) and the taxation of e-commerce transactions will be explored. The seminar will also include a comprehensive overview of customs duties, import/export taxes and their impact on businesses, providing actionable advice for companies seeking to optimize trade processes and minimize risks associated with customs tariffs.
This seminar will equip participants with the knowledge and tools to navigate the complexities of income and indirect taxes while ensuring compliance and identifying tax planning opportunities.
