Overview
In today’s demanding business landscape, accountants face numerous challenges and temptations that test their integrity. Ethics remains the cornerstone of the accountancy profession and business worldwide. Professional accountants must consistently apply fundamental ethical principles to navigate complex dilemmas in a rapidly changing environment. Issues such as sustainability reporting and the integration of artificial intelligence have significant implications for ethical practice, requiring accountants to uphold the highest standards regardless of their location or organizational setting.
Professional accountants play a vital public interest role by promoting transparency, accountability, and trust in financial and non-financial information. In an era marked by heightened regulatory oversight, technological advancements and rising stakeholder expectations, accountants encounter increasingly intricate ethical dilemmas. These often stem from conflicting pressures such as client demands, organizational goals, regulatory obligations, and professional responsibilities. Recent corporate scandals, governance failures, and emerging risks including greenwashing and digital manipulation of data, highlight the urgent need for greater ethical competence, professional skepticism, courage, and sound judgment.
ICPAK is dedicated to upholding strong ethical standards both strategically and objectively, while actively contributing to global ethics policy. The ICPAK Code of Ethics, an enhanced adaptation of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) code, guides professional conduct. The Practical Ethics Forum brings together members with diverse experience, enabling them to examine ethical issues from multiple perspectives and reinforce the profession’s core principles for the present and future.

Continuous Professional Development Units (CPD Units):
Members of ICPAK and reciprocating professional bodies will be awarded 10 CPD Units upon successfully attending the session.
Cost:
Charges for the training will be Kes 10,000/= which will cover workshop fees, materials, and e-certificates of attendance.

National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Reimbursement:
The Institute is registered as a trainer with National Industrial Training Authority. The Institute’s registration number is DIT/TRN/47. Participants who are registered levy contributors should apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. Please note that this is applicable for Kenyan citizens only and subject to NITA regulations.
