Overview

The business environment today continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace. This is mainly driven by rapid technological advancement, increasing regulatory requirements, digital transformation and heightened stakeholder expectations. As a result, many organizations are increasingly operating in an environment characterized by complex risks, growing volumes of data, cybersecurity threats, fraud risks and an ever-demanding compliance environment.

Against this backdrop, professional accountants are expected to move beyond their traditional financial reporting roles to become strategic business advisors. They are increasingly relied upon to support enterprise risk management by leveraging data analytics to generate actionable insights. Moreover, they have also been entrusted with the role of strengthening governance and internal controls and ensuring compliance with evolving legal, regulatory and professional requirements for their organizations.

Furthermore, advances in artificial intelligence, automation and business intelligence tools are transforming how organizations collect, analyze and utilize data. These technologies present significant opportunities for improving decision-making, risk management, fraud detection and operational efficiency. However, they also introduce new governance, ethical and compliance challenges that require new competencies.

To remain relevant and create value, professional accountants must develop the skills required to manage emerging risks, harness data analytics and foster a culture of compliance within their organizations.

This workshop is therefore designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical skills in enterprise risk management, data analytics, and compliance. It will expose participants to leading practices, emerging technologies and practical tools that can be applied to strengthen governance, improve organizational performance and support informed decision-making.
